24 hours in a day

12:41 PM

All of us loathe ourselves for something we have been unable to do. We lay down on the bed at night making a list of all that we couldn't do and say 'I'll definitely do it tomorrow, or the weekend'. Sometimes that day comes, sometimes it doesn't.

Some of us have more time than others, but there is always something a human feels s/he is missing out on. It could be going out, something adventurous, attending to spouse or children, a household chore, a beauty/hygiene/health task etc.

Does life have to be like this or is it possible to find a solution to this?

I feel there are things that could make doing more tasks possible. There are only 24 hours in a day, so there is no point in trying to fill in more. I suggest skipping one thing to make room for another. With everything in life, you have to omit something to make space for something else.

Most of us think of living life better, a better lifestyle, one that is more enjoyable, one that is healthier. But it's just not possible to change ourselves completely. And there is no need to, either. For example, if you spend 5 hours on a computer everyday but wish to live better, all you need to do is find an interest, like sketching, gardening, visiting a park, making a collage with newspapers, cooking new dishes, playing sports or cards. And you don't need to skip computers altogether, you just need to reduce the number of hours you spend on it and it will become easier as your hobby interests you.

I know it's easier said than done and even though we enjoyed certain hobbies in our childhood, it's not so easy going back to them. But, there are ways. You could join a class so that you stay committed and meet people. A lot of hobbies are more fun with people around. And it doesn't have to be something big, it can be something as small as taking a walk, jumping a rope or catching a ball by bouncing it in the air or hitting it on a wall.

This can be applied anywhere, for example, if you wish to do your facial or waxing yourself, you could skip bath for a day and use the time and energy saved on doing facial or waxing or a head/body massage. It's really not necessary to do everything everyday. Neither is it possible.

And while some things are such that you enjoy them more in the beginning, many are also such that it takes time to get used to them, to get the hang of them. Like, if you are used to spending a lot of time on reading or surfing the internet, it could take you time to be okay with staying away from them for hours and rather spend time on exercising or with people etc. I also find that I don't enjoy sketching or painting as much when I get back to them as I do when I've been doing them for 15+ days, even if not daily.
