It's a universally known fact that men prefer women with long hair. Even if they go for a short-haired woman, they often tell their partners to grow hair long. But not all men, there are a few who actually prefer short hair on a woman. In the same way, women believe men prefer women to be completely hair-free down there. But again, there are men who don't share this belief.

Personally, I don't think I'd go for the hair-free look. I once attempted shaving it. I'd just started with a few hairs and then I realized I don't want this. I already knew I wouldn't want the clean look, because I think that would make me feel like a little girl. And I don't want that, for a number of reasons. The #1 reason is that I'm not a little girl so why would I want to look like one? Not to forget, little girls are shy and vulnerable and there is no way I'd want that. I'm not the only one who thinks this way. Some men also share my opinion and say that it's because of this reason that it makes them feel creepy.

Secondly, it's very unnatural. Why would you expect a grown up to have no hair down there? I think it's a sign of adulthood. I think I'd feel exposed without hair and you know, it's an important part of our body and definitely something to be protected. I think that's the reason we have been given so much hair in that area.

In the picture above you'll see my opinion on what your pubic hairstyle should be: For example, I feel a full bush, all natural, is most suited to someone with a rectangular body like mine. Trimmed hair is what I've chosen for plump women. A landing strip for someone slender and tall. Hairless is what I think would look best on hourglass women. A triangle for someone who has curves but the bust or the hips may not be as heavy as that of women with an hourglass figure.

Women's natural and unnatural beauty drives many different opinions which almost lead to fights, whether among beauty experts or couples. Often, people who color their hair with crazy colors receive criticism or strange stares. Few of us embrace our natural beauty by going for bold eyebrows while most women go for pencil-thin eyebrows, which may or may not be liked by other women, but is generally disliked by men.

How much is too much then? How do we know if we have crossed the “natural” line and stepped over to looking unnatural? Are there any benefits to looking either way? Let us try to answer these.

While I'm all for natural looking eyebrows, I don't quite appreciate ungroomed eyebrows, which grow wildly and give many a unibrow. I'd say there is more beauty in less hair but we don't want to look like plastic dolls, do we? I've seen women who hardly look human because of having no hair on their arms and also girls who like babies because of having no hair on their legs. But obviously, females don't want to look like men or like animals. I've also heard of women who got angry at their boyfriends' request of pubic hair removal, saying they are adult women, not little girls.

It is subject to personal choice but I'd recommend going by personal hair growth. If you have fine, blonde hair on your body, it's not quite necessary to remove it. However, if you have thick black hair, it'd be advised to at least trim or bleach it. That's about body hair. Facial hair is best removed, though you could keep eyebrows thick, only having to groom them so they make you look more beautiful. Facial hair, other than upper lip and chin can be kept though. And it's not even necessary to bleach it, if it's not too much or too dark.

A photographer took pictures of women's armpit hair and I must say they look quite interesting. Though obviously, he is a photographer, so he knows how to take beautiful pictures.

Could we agree on one aspect of beauty which is undoubtedly the most important? Some say it's the clothes, others that it's the skin, make-up etc.

In my opinion, it is the hair. Whether we are talking about the hairstyle or hair removal, it is the hair that can totally transform your look, more than anything else. No one would question whether you look beautiful or not, if your hair does and if you at least don't have much hair on your face. As it is, your face needs to look beautiful more than your body and it is the hair which complements your face.

A hairstyle can define how you look on its own and hair removal, though often ignored, matters more than skin and make-up. Changing your hairstyle changes your look the most. Whether you want to look more confident, feminine or fun, nothing can do it like your hairstyle can.

And in the same way, hair removal can transform your look more than most people assume. Especially facial hair removal. Eyebrows are a big part of this. Thick eyebrows can give your personality more depth and make you look more interesting. Thin eyebrows can make you look more beautiful but go too thin and you end up looking unnatural. Go too thick and you'll look wild or ungroomed. The idea should not only be to make them appear normal and natural, but also to suit your specific face shape. Other than that, you can easily look much more beautiful by removing or bleaching the rest of your facial hair.

My experience with waxing was different this time. I was able to wax my legs easily, without finding the task to be messy and skin damaging.

The key is to follow the instructions properly. I'm using a herbal hot wax at the moment. While I did find this wax to be a good one when I tried it before, I was not impressed by the messiness of waxing.

This time, I tried different methods to heat the wax and also heated it for longer. First, I heated the wax tin directly on flame. While it did melt the wax, it also spoiled the container a bit. The second time, I took a bit of wax in a pan and heated it but it melted too much and then became cold too soon. The third time, I followed the instructions on the pack, which suggest putting the wax tin in a pan, pouring some water in it and heating it. Both the pan and the container are supposed to have lids on during the process.

This did the job perfectly. It melted the wax just right, leaving it with a butter like consistency. The wax also didn't become hard and cold too soon, because the tin stayed in hot water the whole time.

Another thing I noticed is that almost any wax can give you red bumps. There is only one way to prevent it, i.e., to apply after waxing and threading gel immediately after waxing. And you cannot even wait until you have done one whole leg. At least I can't because people with sensitive skin can't. So, if waxing spoils your skin, either you should be using a better wax or applying an after hair removal product right after stripping hair off.

I'm not happy with waxing ladies. I find it painful in salon and at home but I don't like the substance used and that the hair need to be 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch.

Using Veet gave my legs coarse hair so I wasn't able to remove hair shorter than 1/2 inch. Even if I manage with it for now, it can't work for me on a long-term basis. I wouldn't like to let the hair grow for it to be waxed. I'm now considering shaving and laser hair removal.

I'd also like to tell you that Veet only gives smooth skin if you have fine hair and it makes hair grow back thick, so there is no way you can keep using it. I have fair cool skin tone and coarse hair growth. The benefit of being half-Indian and half-English is that you can look really beautiful with thick trimmed eyebrows but hair removal can be hard if the hair gets too coarse, like it has on my legs.

You might have heard that if your hair is longer than 1/2 an inch then you need to shave it and come back for waxing after a couple weeks but I'd recommend cutting it with scissors. It's what I do when I haven't done hair removal and I'm in a hurry, cut hair from the roots. Share in your experiences below. Hair removal is a journey in itself.
